Dear families,
AI tools are already part of how your children look up information, get unstuck on homework, and sometimes write. I wanted to give you a clear picture of how we handle them in class, and a simple approach for home, because it works best when school and home are doing the same thing.
The rule in class is three steps: the student figures out what they need, AI can help them think it through, then the student reads the result and decides what is true and worth keeping. When AI is part of schoolwork, we say so. The thinking and the judgment stay with the student, not the tool.
At home, the most useful question is not whether your child used AI, but whether they understand it and can stand behind it. Ask them to walk you through what it said and what they kept or changed. Please keep names, photos of classmates, and private family details out of public tools. If something looks off or you are unsure about it, message me before they hand it in.
With thanks,
